Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your account by requiring both your password and a temporary verification code to log in. Even if someone discovers your password, they won’t be able to access your account without the second factor — keeping your data far safer from unauthorized access.
What You’ll Need:
• A smartphone or device with an authentication app such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator.
• Your regular KellerNetwork login credentials.
• Access to the KellerNetwork service that supports 2FA (Client Portal, Virtualmin, or Webmail — see below).
Enabling 2FA in the Client Portal:
1. Log in at https://kellernetwork.com/portal/.
2. Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner and choose Security Settings.
3. Select Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
4. Scan the QR code using your authentication app, or manually enter the secret key provided.
5. Enter the 6-digit code from your app and click Verify.
6. You’ll receive a confirmation that 2FA is active, and backup recovery codes will be displayed — save these in a secure place.
Enabling 2FA in Virtualmin (Optional):
1. Log in to Virtualmin at https://yourdomain.com:10000.
2. Go to Webmin → Webmin Configuration → Two-Factor Authentication.
3. Choose Google Authenticator or TOTP as the method.
4. Scan the generated QR code with your authentication app and verify the code.
5. Save the configuration to enable 2FA for your account.
If You Lose Access to Your 2FA Device:
• Use your backup recovery codes if available.
• If recovery codes are lost, contact KellerNetwork Support to verify your identity and reset 2FA access.
• Never share your recovery codes or temporary verification codes with anyone — even KellerNetwork staff will never ask for them.
Why 2FA Matters:
• Protects against stolen or reused passwords.
• Blocks unauthorized access from unfamiliar devices or networks.
• Adds an extra step for attackers, even if your password leaks in a breach.
• Greatly improves overall account security across your hosting and email services.
