Understanding the Virtualmin Interface

Virtualmin’s layout might look busy at first, but it’s designed for clarity and efficiency. Once you know where everything lives, managing your sites, email, and databases becomes much easier.

Main Areas of the Interface:
Left Sidebar: Displays all domains (known as “Virtual Servers”). Expand one to access its website, mail, logs, SSL, and database settings.
Top Tabs: Toggle between Virtualmin (for individual site management) and Webmin (for full system administration).
Dashboard Widgets: Show quick stats for disk space, bandwidth usage, and pending updates.
Search Box: Instantly find modules or features by name — perfect when you’re learning your way around.

Tips for Navigation:
• Use the Virtual Server dropdown at the top-left to quickly switch between domains.
• Hover over icons or section names to view helpful tooltips describing what each does.
• Collapse or expand categories in the sidebar to keep your workspace clean.
• Want a darker theme or different layout? Visit Webmin → Webmin Configuration → Webmin Themes to customize your dashboard.

Next Steps:
• Continue to “Creating Your First Website (Virtual Server)” to add your first domain.
• Explore the sidebar options to familiarize yourself with where each function lives.
• Review available themes and settings to personalize your control panel.
