If you ever forget your email password or just want to change it for security, you can update it quickly from the Webmail interface. Each mailbox has its own login, so changing one password won’t affect other accounts on the same domain.
Changing Your Password from Webmail (Usermin):
1. Go to https://yourdomain.com:20000 and log in using your full email address and current password.
2. In the left-hand menu, scroll down and click Change Password under the Mail section.
3. Enter your current password once, then type your new password twice to confirm.
4. Click Change Now to apply the update.
5. You’ll see a confirmation message once the change is saved.
Tips for Choosing a Strong Password:
• Use at least 10 characters — mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
• Avoid dictionary words, names, or anything guessable.
• Never reuse passwords from other websites.
• Consider using a password manager to generate and store unique passwords safely.
What to Do After Changing Your Password:
• Update the saved password in your email app (Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or phone).
• If the app still tries to connect with your old password, remove and re-add the account.
• Log back into Webmail to verify the change was successful.
Admin Reset (if you can’t log in):
• If you’ve forgotten your password and can’t access Webmail, an account administrator can reset it from Virtualmin.
• In Virtualmin, go to Edit Users, select the mailbox, and click Edit.
• Enter a new password in the Password field and click Save.
• The user can then log in with the new password immediately.
